#Wipmadness May-Week Two Check In

The week seemed to fly by! Got an article written, books read and more submissions "out there". This week will be more of the same. Have two articles to write while waiting for feedback on the one I handed in last week and have me some work-for-hire possibles I want to apply for. Carrying on with the reading for #middlegrademay reading challenge (see side bar) and taking part in a BLOG HOP (see sidebar again!) to celebrate children's book week in the States.

How did it go for all of you? Goals met? New goals made? A crazy busy week? Find time to slow it down and fill that well or find quiet time to just sit, relax and clear your mind? Looking forward to hearing how it went and how you a hoping to spend the week coming up.

I will leave you all with this thought. According to Robin Williams spring is nature's way of saying let's party! You know, I like that. There is a part in my backyard right now-poplar and ash trees, apple blossoms, robins, doves and starlings. Even the wind is joining in on the fun. It's blowing but it's warm and filled with earth waking up smells. I say let's join in with the party and read, write and shine wipsters!

  2. Okay, I'm ready to party! And you have been busy...holy cow!

I did not quite meet my goal last week. Meetings and Field Day got in the way. But I am back at it and determined to have this baby in my Agent's hands by Wednesday. I might have a shiny new title for it as well.

    Party on, Wipsters!

  3. I've already started to get some feedback on the WIP I sent to beta camp, so I was reading notes/revising last week.

This week, I plan to take a mini-break from writing, although of course I HAD TO dream about a new WIP last night, so this break might not happen :)

    1. Well enjoy that break...but if the writing happens on a new wip enjoy that too. Very cool on dreaming a new WIP I must say.

  4. I was able to go to my local OCCRWA meeting on Saturday and meet Sara Wendell of Smart Bitches who gave a great presentation on reviews. She ate at our table for lunch and she was not only very knowledgeable about romances but hilarious! I was recognized during the meeting too which is beyond coolness. If anything, that motivated me to get back to my projects.

This week I still have scoring with Pearson, homeschooling, and also helping with son's dinner theater play. I also got an email from our Educational Specialist that we need to finish yet more testing by May 31. You know what I did? I closed my email. Just too much. I do plan to have husband take son to Disneyland this Friday while I go catch THE GREAT GASTBY. Joyce Sweeney told me I HAD to see it as my character Grams in NO MORE GODDESSES lived the life similar to Daisy. That's my treat for the week.

I also plan to hit my sequel on Tuesday and Thursday. When I drop son off at his satellite school, I'm going to library to write.

    1. Cool on meeting Sara, Kim. And even cooler on being motivated to get back to your projects. You know we are cheering you on!

Man oh man, you have a crazy busy week ahead of you. Sending you some extra breathing space, heck, extra breath. Good luck Tuesday and Thursday.

    1. Yes on the plugging along! Always moving is a good place to be IMO. Good luck with those revisions!

  6. To me, PARTY means throwing this WIP out the window and finding a bottle of wine. LOL. So I'm holding back from the urge to party. I'm still plugging away. This revision is still tedious, but I think I've gotten used to the mundane pace so it's not seeming quite as grueling as it was last week. Hopefully by next Monday I'll be back here reporting that I'm ready to launch into a more normal revision.

  7. Haven't done a lot this week. Attended my critique group with a piece to submit and did a bit more revising. Now I have to get off my butt and actually submit it. :)

    All of the above, actually.

Made some new goals regarding my writing schedule and despite a crazy busy week, finished a book (though I'd hoped to read more by this point.) Mother's day weekend with Mom and sister wasn't exactly quiet, but we sat (train ride there, bus ride back), relaxed in a different setting without the Keysmashing Tots (though, i must say I missed them terribly, saw constant reminders of them, and ended up buying them loads of souvenirs), and I did, in fact, clear my mind. I think I'd been so mentally exhausted from last month's challenges that I was due for a recharge.

More offline time this month, it seems, than online, but I think it will help balance things out, especially with the next Camp NaNo just around the corner. I might forego the JuNoWriMo just to maintain what's left of my sanity and continue with revisions on other projects while continuing my work on the twisted fairytale series.

Hope all the mothers out there had a lovely day and that we all have a productive week.

    Cheers,

    Tonette

  9. I'm excited to be making progress on my MG project. Excited and a little scared, lol (but trying to swallow the fear and just go for it!). This week's goal is simple: more words! ;)

  10. Sorry I got distracted yesterday and forgot to check in. One of our lovely writing partners drove into town (Lora Rivera) and we're hanging out and having writerly encouraging sorts of conversations. Today we're going to venture out into the woods for a big hike and picnic. So nice to meet online writing folks in real life. Last week was filled to the rim with work and spiritual activities. I still haven't settled down into a writing routine. I'm beginning to think it'll be winter before I calm down enough to focus.

    Party on, Wipsters!

  11. I've been having so much fun with a monster blogfest, I completely forgot to check in here. So glad I finally made it! Lots of blog writing this week, not so much with my wip. :/ Oh well, the fest ends Friday, so it'll be back to the book. :)

Thanks so very much for popping in my blog, Deb! I really appreciate it and it means a ton to me!

Hope everyone has a super productive week!
